Q: Can you tell us a little about your business?

A: Our background is in the aerospace industry, specifically developing software for multimillion-pound aircraft simulators. With the emergence of Virtual Reality in the last few years, IN Reality can now develop VR simulations for new sectors at a fraction of the cost of traditional simulators. Our bespoke solutions enable fully immersive training to take place in realistic environments rather than using real assets or locations, for the aerospace, rail, transportation and energy sectors.

Q: What makes IN Reality special?

A: IN Reality’s unique selling point is providing specialist procedural training applications which can be integrated with Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Q: What attracted you to the programme?

A: We are excited to be participating in the Somerset Catalyst programme. We are engineers and know we can deliver on the technical aspects of the business but need commercial and investment guidance to make the business viable, which hopefully the Catalyst programme can provide.

Q: What are your business goals for the next 6-12 months?

A: We are a small start-up with a lot of ambition. The VR market is expected to be worth $120Billion by 2026. The VR training market is currently worth circa $400M and we aim to become a market leader in the training vertical. We already have commercial traction but are currently reliant on one or two big clients. We need to increase our customer base and scale the business in the next 12 months.

Q: Why do you think Somerset is such a great place to do business?

A: Somerset is the home of some of the leading defence companies such as Leonardo, BAE Systems and Thales, and geographically close to key academic institutions such as Bristol, Bath and Exeter Universities. Somerset is an ideal location to set up a high-tech business.
